Imagine you can command your troops from a top-down view and even drop battlefield supplies like minefields or forward assault bases on the map. You can do this with vonCommander, currently in Early Access on Patreon.

Features:

Mech commands via mouse clicks

Click your Mechs to select, and move them with a second mouse click, or send them to attack an enemy unit on the battlefield. In Satellite View mode, an AI takes over your own Mech, and you can move it around to with simple mouse clicks or command it to attack the units!

Airstrike Mode

Place Airstrikes via mouse clicks in top view on the map

Satellite view visual modes

The Satellite view has a glowing line style, and there is a slider available to fade the effect to see the real terrain

Time scaler ("Neurohelmet time")

Every so often there are long walks in Mechwarrior 5, or you need to limp back to base with a broken leg. You can scale up or down the game's time in Satellite view mode for those longer walks, and command your own Mech to go back to the dropship.

Battlefield Supplies System

With vonHUD, the regular airstrike points from Mechwarrior 5 are becoming "Battlefield Supply Points". For your negotiated points, you can not only place airstrikes in missions, but you have a wide range of combat drops available like:

  • Minefields
  • Additional Mechs
  • Field base with Repair Bays
  • Assault base with AC2 Turrets
  • VTOL Squad
  • Tank Squad

and more coming to vonCommander. This adds a deeper level of purpose to Mechwarrior 5's negotiation points, and it makes now more sense to add airstrike points to your missions.

Currently, vonCommander is only tested in Single Player.
